Whoa! How did that happen?!

I have a problem. Somehow the universe has conspired to slip HALF A YEAR past me without my knowledge. Somehow I woke up last week to the beginning of JULY. This month not only splits the year down the middle, but also means half of the summer has past us by. How did this happen?!

It bothered me a little when I realized how quickly the year has past. There are still so many things that I want to do this year. Let’s revisit our summer to-do list.

1. Beach trip!!
2. Attend a baseball game
3. Visit the zoo
4. Go white water rafting
5. Visit an amusement park
6. Go swimming
7. Hike in the mountains
8. Go to an outdoor concert
9. Picnic and play at the park
10. Visit the aquarium

5 down, 5 to go!!  I have some catch up to do to update you on all of the things we have already checked off our list.  But in the meantime, here are a few summer photos of sweet Evan.

Summer is coming…I can feel it!!

Today I woke up to hail and a thunderstorm.  Even this slightly less than beautiful day can’t make me forget that summer is coming!  There are so many things that I am looking forward to doing this summer.  Evan is at such a fun age – he is so mobile, which is definitely a blessing and a curse.  He loves exploring new things and makes almost any situation entertaining.

I’ve developed a list of the things that absolutely have to happen this summer and I’ll do periodic check ins to see how we are doing at checking things off the list.

1. Beach trip!! (This one is already planned for the first week in June and I couldn’t be more excited!)
2. Attend a baseball game (minor or major league – I don’t care!)
3. Visit the zoo
4. Go white water rafting
5. Visit an amusement park
6. Go swimming (this one will obviously happen more than once – but I can’t wait for it!!)
7. Hike in the mountains
8. Go to an outdoor concert
9. Picnic and play at the park
10. Visit the aquarium

I am so excited to start marking things off the list.  Alex teaches his last class today and so he will be down to one job!  This equals much more time to fill with fun adventures.  Thanks to an unusually warm spring we have already been able to start enjoying the beautiful outdoors.  We went on a small hike the day before Easter at a local waterfall.  The weather was absolutely perfect.  We were a little nervous about keeping Evan in the Ergo the whole time (we even had an escape plan if necessary), but he did fantastic!  I can’t wait to take him again!

What are your plans this summer? Any suggestions of things we should add to our list?

Here’s to summer – - bring it on!  We are ready and waiting!!
